Verizon Iphone?

Rumors have began to surface that apple will launch a new “Worldwide” Iphone as sometime in Q3 2010. Although Qualcomm is currently in process of making a “Universal Phone Card”, which will use both W-CDMA/CDMA2000 technology (used by VZW and Sprint) and UMTS/HSPA+ technology (used by AT&T and T-Mobile). For more on the rumors click here.

Qualcomm has stated though that,”This technology will not be possible until the later half (Q3) of 2010.” Which considering they would need to field test the product, the technology probably will not be publicly available until 2011. Once that technology is available though, Apple has already stated,”We will fully utilize the technology available to us.” Which can lead us to conclude they would finally come out with a “Worldwide” Iphone.

In the meantime though two Apple sources have already been confirmed to say that Apple is currently working on a “Worldmode” phone.

In the meantime though there are a couple barriers keeping Apple from coming out with a strictly W-CDMA/CDMA2000(VRZ) phone.

Apple still has a contract with AT&T, this contract expires in 2010. Apple has already stated that it would be interested in pursuing a non-exclusive contract with both AT&T and Verizon after its contract is up.

The second barrier could also disappear were Apple to build a new iPhone that is compatible with both AT&T and Verizon’s networks.

So the question is,”When could this phone début?” According to some sources the optimal time of a release (which according to some sources Apple is already researching) would be Q2-Q3 of 2010, or summer of 2’10.

As a Verizon slave.. uh I mean customer, and an avid Apple fan I can’t wait until the new Iphone is released for Verizon. But for now I will just have to keep salivating over forums.. and waiting for 2012.

I was at first skeptical. I’m very safe and always concerned about putting any of my personal information on the web. The moment any website asks for my SSN, Credit Card#, home addresse, or anything else I believe is too personal I am immediately am off of the site. With Lockerz I found no such scam. They asked me for simple information and stated that they wouldn’t need my address until I redeemed my rewards. I was shocked. I have no been a part of Lockerz.com for the better part of two months. I have seen personally my friends recieve $25 gift cards from Lockerz.com. I also have McAfee Security and ran a scan after I had navigated throughout the website and found no sign of spyware or adware installed on my PC.

Give it to Manning?

You’re Bill Belichick, head coach of the New England Patriots, and you have the football and you explosive offense on the field. You were held and it is now 4th & 2 on your own 28 yardline. “Pretty easy choice huh?” What if I told you there was a certain Mr. #18 standing on the opposite sidline cool, collected, with ice-water flowing through his veins. He is poised, in-sync, and ready. This Mr. #18 goes by the name of Peyton Manning. Heard of em’?

You now find yourself in the same shoes Bill Belichick was in last night. He has the decision to punt the ball, or he can go for the first down. The later of the two is a very risky move. But considering that Peyton Manning was standing on the opposite sideline, it is harder to tell which is the riskier of the two. Bill called his last timeout and talked it over with his All-Pro QB Tom Brady. After a talk they decided they has a better chance of getting the first down than they did of containing the juggernaut on the other sideline. They called a short pass play to Running Back Kevin Faulk. He caught the ball a little past the first down, but as he was pulling in the ball he juggled it and was tackled behind the first down line. Thus, giving the ball to Peyton Manning and his deadly efficnt offense. Peyton Manning is one of the best fourth quarter QBs ever to touch a football. Every heart in Patriot Nation sunk as they saw #18 jogging onto the field of play, with his face betraying no emotion. He was ready to do what had to be done. With under 30 seconds left in the game Manning had the Colts near the Goal-line and threw a game winning pass to Reggie Wayne to seal the victory. Peyton Manning = Clutch

During the Media press conference after the game Bill Belichick stated , “I still believed the pass should have resulted in a first down, but didn’t due to a bad spot.” Many of the Patriot’s fans were outraged with the call, believing it was a poor play call, and have even gone far enough to claim “Momentary Insanity.” But as for the Patriot’s players, they were behind their Coach 100%. When running back Kevin Faulk was asked if he was suprised with the play he said,” You can’t be suprised at that point it time, the game is on the line.” Many of the other players further backed up their coach. They all repeated the same thing,”He was coaching to win the game.”

If you would like to watch the call, and Peyton Manning’s awesomness I have provided a link here.

But for all of use don’t we wish we could be like Peyton Manning. Not in sports specifically, but in our respected areas. All of us want to be the person, that when it is all on the line, everyone knows whose getting the call. Why? Because you’re clutch. Light outs. Game over.

Facebook

It amazes me how quickly Facebook has swept the Nation. It is now one of the most popular social networking devices ever. It has taken it a while, but it has grown from a small network for Ivy League students to one of the most popular websites in the world. Let’s take a look at Facebook’s short history. It started when Mark Zuckerburg and a couple of his college roomates and computer-science classmates decided they wanted their fellow Harvard students to be able to keep in touch. It was then expanded to include other Ivy league students as well as Stanford students. After that it was made to include all universitiy students, then high-school students, then anyone over the age of thirteen. For more indepth history of Facebook click here.

Facebook is very revelant in today’s pop-culture. You can’t find a kid around who doesn’t have a facebook or at least know what Facebook is. You can find references to facebook throughout advertising (Apple, Verizon Wireless, Netbook, etc.). It is also often referred ro in TV Shows and Movies (30′s Rock, The Office, Parks and Recreation, so-on&so-on). It has become one of the most powerful advertising ploys now to market your product simaltaniously with facebook, or a facebook application. It only leaves the question will it follow the Trend of Myspace, IMing, and other Networking devices and become a no longer relevant topic, or will it thrive like e-mail, online news, and blogging? Only time will tell.

P.S.- If you don’t have a facebook account you can sign up for one here.

What Am I Thinking?!

As a teenage boy I am constantly asked the question, “What were you thinking?!. I would like to answer that question with a simple answer. What if in my short attention span I actually.. wasn’t thinking? What if when the teacher just explained the Pythagorean theorem while I had my head down.., What if Coach just explained how to run the play, while I was thinking about whether that girl in Math class was smiling at me specifically, or just smiling in general, and I screw up the play.., What if my mother told me to take out the trash, only to find that 25 minutes later I still was watching the latest episode of the hit sit-com The Office..? You can read all the case studies you want, you can look at all the research, read all the peer-review journals. But is there any other way to understand a young male better than straight from the mind of a youn male. I believe the answer, no matter what science tells you, is no.

That is what I will be doing in this Blog. Let you into the brain of a teenage child.. scary! I will write about whatever comes into my mind, reviews, video games, sports, girls, friends, family problems, good Christmas presents. Not just about my life, but an overall generalization of what is going through a teenager’s mind in many situations. So sit back, relax, and welcome to my inner sanctum.
